Hi, today I am sharing a card that was made for two challenges: the ‘Neat and Tangled’, and ‘Seven Hills Crafts’ challenge blogs. Theme for the Neat and Tangled challenge is ‘Anything Goes’, and if you want to know more about it click on the image below:
Theme for the Seven Hills Crafts challenge blog is embossing. For more information about this challenge, click here.
I really love this ‘dreams do come true’ stamp from Neat and Tangled. My first association when I saw this stamp was: clouds. So, I made a cloud stencil in my Silhouette Studio and cut it out from an acetate sheet. I kept all the pieces, positive and negative. I took a middle cloud piece and placed it in the center of the watercolor paper and traced it’s edges with a masking fluid. Then I removed the cloud piece and waited a few minutes for the masking fluid to dry. Next I colored my cloud with distress inks of pink shades. After everything dried, I colored the rest of my watercolor piece with a blue distress ink. After I was done with coloring, I sprinkled everything with water droplets and picked them up with a dry cloth after a few seconds.
Next I placed my cloud stencil over the watercolor piece and I covered the middle cloud with its positive piece. Then I covered everything with a generous amount of embossing paste. I wanted my clouds big and fluffy. I removed the stencil and I sprinkled the clouds with glitter embossing powder. I immediately heat set the embossing powder. If you expose embossing paste to the heat while its still wet – it will rise and become all bubbly. And now I have even fluffier glittery clouds. 🙂
After that I stamped my sentiment with clear sticky ink and heat embossed it in white. I added a bit of coral distress ink over the banner, just to make it stand out more. I adhered my watercolor piece on a natural card stock with extra strong adhesive. Unfortunately it still ended up a bit warped. :/ For a bit of shine I glued a few sparkling pink stars.
Have a nice crafty day! 🙂
