Hi, today I am sharing new Christmas card. It is for Simon Says Stamp Flickr and Wednesday challenges. The theme of the Flick challenge is “Anything goes” and if you also want to participate click here. The Theme of the Wednesday Challenge is “Make it Sparkle” and if you want to find out more about this challenge click on the image bellow.
Here is my card:
I started my card by die cutting watercolor paper with SSS Stitched Rectangles die. I used the largest rectangle from the set. After that, I took red and black distress inks and painted the plaid pattern. When the color was dry to the touch I painted gold lines over it. I used Inka Gold paint in the color gold. Next step was to make a small shaker that looks like and ornament. I took Pretty Pink Posh die, Scalloped Circle, and die cut few pieces of the circle from a white card stock and one from a gold card stock. Behind the gold piece, I glued round piece of an acetate. The white pieces I stacked and adhered them together. On the top of them, I adhered the white piece and filled with gold star sequins. For the background of shaker I blended brown distress inks on a white card stock and made water and gold splatters over it. I let it dry and after that, I adhered it to the back of my shaker piece.
I glued the shaker piece on the bottom part of the watercolored card stock. To make it look more like an ornament I threaded gold twine from the top of the ornament to the back of the watercolored piece. Next, I made the bow from the same gold twine and adhered it above the shaker piece. Then I die cut “holly” from the same gold card stock and adhered it in the middle of my shaker piece. I used die from the Avery Elle to die cut the “holly” word. I glued that piece on a creamy card stock. To make it even shinier I adhered a few gold sequins all over the card.
And that finishes the card. I will be back soon with a new card.
Happy crafting! 🙂
