It is time for my favorite card that I made for this Christmas! I am really happy with it and it perfectly describes my style. This card I am also applying for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. The theme is “Make It Sparkle” and if you also want to participate click on the image bellow.
I started my card by die cutting houses and trees from a watercolor paper. Dies that I used are from the Mama Elephant “Home Collection Creative Cuts” set. I applied distress ink on each of the die cuts with the sponge daubers. I would apply the ink on the bottom part of the house, mask it and then apply it to the roof. Next step was to make my shaker frame. I took Pretty Pink Posh Scalloped Circle die and I die cut five frames from a white card stock and one from a gold glitter card stock. I glued three frames together, adhered loose clear thread on top of them and then glued other white pieces on top of these three. Then I stamped cute reindeer from the Mama Elephant on a watercolor paper, colored it with distress inks and cut it out with sharp scissors. Next, I adhered it on the top of my loose thread that is between my frames.
For the background of the frame I just blended different shades od blue and black on a watercolor paper. I made few splatters with water and gesso, sprinkled it with glitter embossing powder and heat set it with my heat gun. I die cut that piece with a circle die and then I adhered it to the back of my frame. I filled the frame with micro beads and snowflake sequins and on top of it I adhered a piece of the acetate. Next, I decided to adhere house and tree die cuts all around the frame. I would put liquid glue on the bottom part of the die cut and adhere it on the frame and on the top of the die cut I would put a foam square. When I adhered all the die cuts in a wanted position I glued glitter frame on top of everything.
For my card base, I decided to use Neenah Desert Storm card stock. Before I adhered my shaker piece on the card base I decided to make the effect of the falling snow. I took snow marker and drew different sizes of dots all over the card base. I let them dry and then I heat set it with the heat gun. After that, I adhered the shaker piece and that finishes my card.
I will be back tomorrow with a new card. 🙂
