Watercolor Romantic Card – SSS Wednesday and Flickr Challenge

Hi, it is time for a small and cute card that is perfect for Valentine’s day. It is for two challenges, Simon Says Stamp Flickr and Wednesday Challenge. The theme for the SSS Wednesday Challenge is “Cute”. If you also want to participate click on the image bellow.

The Theme for the Flickr Challenge is “Love is in the Air” and if you want to find out more about it, click here.

My card:

So, I started by die cutting a small piece of watercolor paper with the SSS Square dies. I used the biggest die in the set. Then I stamped cute butterflies from the Pretty Pink Posh on in with a clear sticky ink. I sprinkled them with white embossing powder and I heat set them with my heat gun. Next, I smooshed Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet distress ink on the craft sheet. I sprayed a lot to of water in them and applied them to the watercolor piece. I applied the lightest one all over the paper, the medium one on smaller portion and the purple one only in a diagonal portion of a paper. After everything dried I made a lot of water splatters all over the watercolor piece. I also covered the butterflies completely in water. I picked the water with a dry cloth after few seconds and I got beautiful dimension on my watercolor piece.

Next, I die cut a circle from a dark grey card stock and I stamped sentiment “hey love” from the Simon Says Stamp stamp set. For stamping, I used clear sticky ink and I heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I wasn’t sure where to place it so I took the same circle die from the SSS and I die cut a partial circle from my main watercolor piece. Then I trimmed my circle sentiment so that it can perfectly fit inside my watercolor piece.

For my card base I used white card stock, then I adhered fun foam piece on the back of the watercolor piece and I glued it on the card base. Next, I glued dark grey circle flat on the card base. Then I took glue and added few dots between the butterflies. I sprinkled the whole card with pink glitter chunks and let it dry. It stuck only to the places where the glue was. For a final touch, I brushed the butterflies with clear Wink of Stella.

That is all for now. Hope I will have time to share my next card next weekend.

Bye! 🙂
